My first job until around my mid 20s I worked with computer hardware and PC repair, before working at an aviation business. During my time there, I held various roles, though because of my computer knowledge, these roles would include maintaining and upgrading the company’s technical infrastructure. I also digitalised all the company data, thus allowing data analysing, using tools like SQL and MS Access to look for trends and make more informed business decisions. 

After 16 years in aviation I moved on to work with a tech company providing ETL solutions, data warehouse design and front-end reports/dashboards. During this time, I went on to train in various business intelligence practices using ETL tools like Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) and reporting tools like Pentaho Report Designer (PRD). I studied in dimensional modelling and stars schemas based on Ralph Kimball. I also worked will Excel, Power Pivot & OLAP cubes. Recently I started to focus on the MS Azure cloud solutions suite with their power solutions namely Power BI. 

I have been learning about Azure infrastructure namely AD, SQL Server, Databricks, resources, service principles, security groups, API management, and other various Azure fundamentals. Within Power BI I have become proficient with M language, Power Query, DAX, Report/Dashboard design, BI Service, Dataflows, Template Apps, and App embedding for which I have my Power BI Data Analytics Associate Certificate. 

I also work with JS, JSON, Python to further customise ETL and Power BI solutions.
